According to dosomething.org, over 9.2 million students are victims of bullying every year.  Additionally, 90% of all fourth to eighth graders report being victims of bullying. As Miss Accomplished Oregon, I want to tackle the growing problem of bullying in our schools, playgrounds and neighborhoods.  My platform is called "There Is Hope" because I want those who are being bullied to know they are not alone and there are resources and people to turn to when they need help.  I want to encourage all schools in Oregon to have programs that follow  the new laws against bullying and take the necessary steps to stop it in their schools.  I will encourage and educate students to become active bystanders and to stand up against bullying when they see it happening.
